About GMIT

Built in the field.
Designed for the audit.

GM IT Consulting UG was founded by Gary Moore with a single premise: the African land stewardship community needed a measurement, reporting, and verification platform built from the ground up for SADC conditions — not adapted from northern-hemisphere templates.

Our Story

From Okahandja to the world

The enterprise is built around the Okahandja Homestead in Namibia — a working site where IoT sensor networks, soil carbon sampling protocols, and drone survey methodologies are developed, calibrated, and refined in real SADC conditions.

From Okahandja, the platform extends across five legal entities operating in Germany, Namibia, and Morocco. Every methodology is ground-truthed at the homestead: Namibian savanna phenology calibration for BFAST deforestation detection, encroacher bush confound analysis, soil organic carbon depth profiles under different land management regimes.

No global competitor holds this dataset. That is the defensible market window — and it was built by being present in the field, not by adapting global models from a desk in Europe.

The Okahandja Homestead

Where the platform is ground-truthed

The Okahandja Homestead is the operational base in central Namibia — a working farm and research site where every component of the GMIT platform is deployed, tested, and calibrated against real SADC conditions.

IoT sensor network, soil laboratory preparation area, drone hangar, off-grid solar and EV charging infrastructure, and a permaculture productive landscape — all instrumented, monitored, and reported via the GMIT platform.

The homestead serves as the primary calibration dataset for all remote sensing methodologies. Namibian savanna phenology, encroacher bush dynamics, and semi-arid SOC profiles measured here feed directly into the platform models used for all client projects across the region.
