Carbon MRV & Project Development
We develop, monitor, and report Verra VCS VM0042 soil organic carbon projects across SADC — combining IoT continuous telemetry with physical SOC sampling to produce the most defensible baseline and monitoring datasets available in the region.

VM0042
Verra VCS
VM0042 is the primary methodology for soil carbon projects in regenerative agriculture. It requires rigorous baseline SOC measurement, additionality demonstration, permanence safeguards, and ongoing monitoring. Our platform is purpose-built to meet every evidence requirement — from the irreversible SOC baseline gate (Risk E-01, ±5% tolerance) through to VVB audit trail generation and Verra registry submission.
Our Process
Feasibility & Eligibility
Land use assessment, additionality analysis, project boundary definition. Includes preliminary SOC analysis via composite sampling. We establish whether your land qualifies before any capital is committed.
Baseline SOC Sampling
R8 SOC Field Technicians collect depth-stratified soil cores (0–30 cm, 30–60 cm). Laboratory analysis at Inqaba Biotec. Immutable baseline gate: SOC results locked to the platform audit trail before any intervention begins. This is a hard platform constraint — the baseline cannot be modified retroactively.
IoT Monitoring Network
LoRaWAN sensor network deployed for continuous soil moisture, temperature, and bulk density tracking. RothC simulation model parameterised with your specific local data. 95% data continuity and 99.5% uptime SLA — both are VVB audit requirements.
Verification (VVB)
Audit-ready evidence package: IoT data export, satellite cross-validation (Sentinel-2 BFAST), lab reports, chain-of-custody documentation. Immutable PostgreSQL audit trail. Blockchain attestation of monitoring reports on Polygon or Algorand.
Registry Issuance
VCS credit issuance via Verra registry. We manage the full submission process including project description, monitoring report, and VVB coordination. Credits issued to your account.
Ongoing Monitoring
Annual physical sampling plus continuous IoT telemetry. Automated anomaly alerts. Annual monitoring reports generated from the platform. The same data that drives subscription renewal also drives VVB compliance.
Competitive Advantage
No global competitor holds ground-truth SOC datasets from Namibian savanna contexts
BFAST seasonal window reconfigured for Namibian phenology — eliminates false positive deforestation flags
Encroacher bush confound addressed in all remote sensing analyses
UMD canopy thresholds corrected for semi-arid southern African woodland types
GFC2020 as forest reference layer — methodologically correct for the region
RothC model parameterised with locally-calibrated soil data, not global defaults
